The AAF-KC invited Paul & I, the founders of Department Zero, to conduct a session on brainstorming during their 1st inaugural creativity conference. It was an honor to present a hands-on ideation clinic during a schedule filled with Kansas City's top Creative Directors and thought leaders.
Throughout the day, 12 speakers and 4 clinics addressed the challenge of being "creative," in an increasingly competitive and always-on world. The inspiration our team received was worth every minute.
Throughout the many compelling sessions, the speakers encouraged the Kansas City creative advertising community to focus on their gifts, avoid comparison, simplify ideas, and coached us all out of creative ruts. The Kansas City Business Journal put together a great recap.
My personal favorites were Jenne Fromm's Death by Comparison and Tug McTighe's Cut the Crap sessions. Once the session videos are posted online, I highly encourage anyone who works in the advertising and marketing industry to check them out.
