INTERNSHIP 2016

Department Zero interns are helpful, friendly and dedicated individuals that join us in all aspects of our operations. Learn how to start researching, planning, budgeting and executing exciting new experiential programs for top brands.

Qualified candidates will be: 

  • A current Junior or Senior in an area university, or a recent graduate
  • Earning/earned a degree in communications, PR, marketing, advertising or business
  • Able to commit a minimum of 12 hours per week in our KC office during normal working hours (M-F, 9am-5pm)
  • Responsible, entrepreneurial, and have strong communication skills

PEPPER POSITIONS

Pepper manages field staff recruiting, screening, scheduling, hiring and payroll. From Brand Ambassadors that work a single, 4 hour shift to Tour Managers that go on the road for a client program for a year, Pepper manages the process from start to end. Our clients include Microsoft, Pepsi, Sonic, Toyota, and xBox.

Our offices are in the Crossroads neighborhood of Kansas City, on 20th Street between Wyandotte and Baltimore. Standard office hours are 9-5, but we regularly have contact with field staff across the country, receiving texts and calls and answering questions during evenings and weekends.

Talent Manager (Account Manager role)

We’re looking for a Talent Manager who loves problem solving, working with ad agency clients, and has knowledge of the event staffing and event marketing industry. Our Managers lead all activity for their own accounts, and manage the staffing process for their client programs, with assistance from Talent Coordinators.

MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, human resources or related field

  • 1-3 years of experience in client-facing roles, with agency or project management background

  • Comfortable following clearly established objectives and priorities for staffing initiatives

  • Detail oriented and self organization skills

  • Flexibility and problem solving abilities to anticipate issues and create solutions

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills

  • Financial management skills, to track budgets, scopes, monthly client billing and staff payments

NICE TO HAVES:

  • General knowledge of event staff recruiting practices and principals

  • Bilingual (Spanish fluency) a plus

  • Experience working events and promotions

  • Experience working in Google apps (Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc)

Talent Coordinator (Staffing Process role)

We’re looking for Talent Coordinators to assist our growing Pepper teams. The primary duties of this position include screening, interviewing and booking staff, building event recap reports, and tracking performance and budgets. If you are super organized, keep meticulous notes, love talking to people, and are looking to start a career in event marketing, this is the position for you
